A TASTE OF VAN LIFE IN SEQUOIA + KING’S CANYON NATIONAL PARK

A TASTE OF VAN LIFE IN SEQUOIA + KING’S CANYON NATIONAL PARK

The van is 90% done with just minor details left to finish. 2 months ago we set a date for a trip to the Sequoia’s to give us a deadline on completion of the build. It definitely kept us accountable… even though we finished building our bed at 2 am, just a few hours before we hit the road. Typical Travis + Lexi  fashion, always on time with very little sleep. Everything in the van worked great.Travis got help hooking up all of our electrical the day before we left as well, it was such a relief and so awesome seeing everything working how it’s supposed to! Lights, hot water, working oven and stove top, comfy beds. Our first trip in our (almost complete) home on wheels couldn’t have gone better. We did come home and… Read More

VAN BUILD: PHASE 1 OVERVIEW

Hello! Today we wanted to share with you guys our steps so far in our van conversion process. We are in no way professionals or recommending this is the right or only way in building a van, we just want to share our personal experience so far! We had a dream, we did our research, researched on YouTube til’ the wee hours of the morning, and asked a ton of questions to other Van Builders. But the biggest thing we’ve realized for us to get what we want, the way we want it, is trial and error. The only way you can learn something is by doing it! We wear many new hats now; electrician, plumber, carpenter, fabricator….. We purchased our van, new off the lot in July 2017. We realize that’s not realistic for most… Read More

VANLIFE: The Reason Why

VANLIFE: The Reason Why

As a young married couple, we live in a world where things like debt, and working 60 hours a week, and missing your kids childhood, and buying a house worth 6x more than you make in a year, and being able to buy a car that you know you can’t afford, and keeping up with the jonses, and collecting things, and then having too many things that you have to pay for a storage unit to put your overflow of things in, and feeling successful based on how much you have,  and marriages fail because you go separate ways each day pursuing different goals, and health issues from sitting at a desk 8 hours a day…… all of these thing are considered normal. Hi, we’re Travis and Lexi, and we disagree with all of the above.… Read More
